About Hammer and Dye

I'm a leathercrafter based in Germany, and what started as making belt pouches for the LARP and cosplay community has grown into something much bigger.

My journey with leather began with a simple need: functional pouches for reenactment events. But as I learned traditional leatherworking techniques, I fell in love with the craft itself, the tooling, the carving, the way vegetable tanned leather transforms over time.

Today, I create two things:

Handcrafted leather goods made in my small workshop, from hand-tooled pouches for LARPers and cosplayers to minimalist wallets and everyday accessories for anyone who appreciates quality craftsmanship. No machines, no mass production. Every piece is made by hand using high quality materials.

Leathercraft patterns for makers who want to learn the craft themselves. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to expand your skills, my patterns come with detailed instructions and tutorial videos on YouTube to guide you through each project.

Why vegetable tanned leather?

This type of leather isn't just durable, it develops a unique patina over time. The more you use it, the more character it gains and the more beautiful it becomes.

Why teach?

Because leatherworking gave me so much, and I believe everyone should have the chance to create something beautiful with their own hands. My patterns are designed to be approachable, no-nonsense guides that help you actually finish projects.

Everything here is made with care, designed with intention, and built to last, whether you're wearing it to a festival, the office, or day to day. This is where tradition meets adventure, leather goods made for every day journeys.
